Zach Anderson of Elkhart is off the Indiana sex offender registry after a months-long court battle over a criminal sexual conduct case.
Anderson pleaded guilty to misdemeanor criminal sexual conduct earlier this year after having sex in December with a 14-year-old Niles, Mich., girl who told him she was 17.
Anderson’s sentence included 25 years on the sex offender registry — a punishment his family thought was too harsh considering both Anderson, who was 19 at the time, and the girl said he did not know she was underage. Full Article
that case is jus like mine, only problem , I have been on registry in CALIIFORNIA 29 YEARS , ME 18, VICTIM 13.11 MONTHS, STILL REGISTERING TO THIS DAY , NO FORCE, NO VOILENCE, INVOLED IN MY CASE…THIS CALF JUSTICE SUCKS .. WHEN WILL IT END ????
Congratulations Zach. I hope this is not just an anomalous ruling by the court and I hope this case can be cited by attorneys in cases involving adults. These laws have destroyed far too many lives and these laws, supposedly to protect kids, are now being used against children at an alarming rate. When a parent is placed on a registry for something like relieving his self on the side of a road he is lumped in with the worst of the worst and his entire family suffers, and the parent can’t participate in much his child’s life. These laws are just plain wrong and this case highlights how wrong these laws are. There are many children out there that have not been as fortunate as Zach.
There is many ways to challenge the sex offender laws… the best one that has worked is the inability for the judge or prosecutor to explain 51 separate laws that you would be subject to… not only that but it is unlawful to have 50 different laws and 1 federal that is not standardized across the board.. this argument has won but is not published results… you need only to file a civil complaint
